#QueerPit - August 1, 2023
What is #QueerPit?
Please see the official QueerPit site for the most up-to-date information.
#QueerPit is a new Twitter pitch contest for LGBTQIA+ writers and stories, taking up the mantle from former pitch contest #LGBTNPit. It's open to all queer fiction and nonfiction, in all age categories and genres, as well as non-queer stories from writers who are part of the LGBTQIA+ community*. This contest is a platform for authors of completed, polished, and query-ready manuscripts, with the goal of making connections with industry professionals, as well as other writers.

#QueerPit's Story
#QueerPit was founded by @nicolemtota because she noticed a lack of #LGBTQIA+ pitch contests happening in 2023 & was disappointed by the cancellation of #LGBTNPit.

As a huge fan of Twitter pitch contests and an advocate for the Twitter writing community, Nic decided to bring back a contest this summer with the goal of:

1. Celebrating queer authors & stories
2. Getting agents and editors to see some fabulous queer stories
3. Helping unpublished authors to make connections
